ARRANGER …THE VISIONARY

When he first held a guitar at age 11, Andrew LD knew that this was what he was born to do – to make music.

Malaysia born and of mixed parentage (Chinese and Indian), he has been composing music and song lyrics since he was 13. Besides arranging and producing his music, he also sings all of his own compositions. He plays the various instruments you can find on his compositions, such as the guitar, keyboards, drums and synthesizes.

Experienced in performing at various events here in Malaysia, he recently “soft-launched” his promotional album (a collaborative effort with 2 other artistes – Simon Michaels, and Muneer – formerly from Urban Method) on 30^th August 2008 here at Penang’s Sunset Bistro on the beach. The event was a great success, and 200 promotional autographed cds were given out to the crowd. The audience was given a little taste of what is contained on his upcoming first album “ANDREW L.D. – Walking Star”, which is due to be released year-end 2008. The songs range from pop, rock, rhythm and blues, reggae, ballads, trance, to ethnic and gothic melodies. He explains the diversity ...“I love music, all types of music, so I write all types of songs to suit every taste of my life”. As for the album title and title track, he explains that “The walk of life is difficult, full of bumps in its winding roads, but it can be overcome by putting our minds to it. …We are all stars, special in our own way. Begin by loving yourself…and everything else around you will love you too”.

Aside from his album, Andrew has another project in the works of which he deeply believes in. Entitled Project “United Malaysia”, it is a song he is currently working on, and will involve any Malaysian wanting to participate in the video. Whether they be from the private or government sector, actors, artistes… as Andrew puts it “All races and faces. For mankind… for a United Nation... a United Malaysia”.

Besides all this keeping him busy round the clock, Andrew also has his own company – Impressive Talent Agency – in which he has been organizing events for other artistes and companies for the past few years.

Upcoming events to watch out for performances by Andrew and fellow artistes Simon Michaels and Muneer, will be the Taiping Sentral Launch on 28^th Sept 2008 at 2.00pm, and The Hari Raya Celebration at Sunway Carnival Mall on 2^nd Oct 2008 at 7.00pm.

There has been no stopping him since he was 11… we are definitely going to be hearing and seeing a lot more of Andrew L.D.!

Performance Update

The process of the album

The album, i started processing it since year 2000...and its been 8 years and finally I've done a soft launch of probably just a quarter of what supposed to be in the album. which in this point i realize how difficult is it to do it on your own to achieve what you want.

This is were i started writing my songs.....

I've written the lyrics. arranged, programed, sang and financed every single track in my album which cost me so much emotion, tears, sweat, money all for songs of my own for others to listen and feel what i feel inside. its all worth it. i basically lived for this. I've dreamed about this since i was a kid at 11 years old when i held my first guitar.

now i have over 50 compositions of my own which I'm very proud to be inventor of. i truly enjoy watching people smiling and enjoy the songs that i create, thou not all the time i get what i expect to be the response from people...but its most important that i follow whats deep down inside of me and write the songs which i most love to do.

i wish to have everyone to have a piece of the album because my songs range from, pop, rock, reggae, r&b, ballad, ethnic, Gothic, trance to hip hop. People sometimes ask me if I'm confuse, but my reply was "i love music..and i love all types of music...." so i write all types of songs to suite every taste of my life. shall i call my genre "andverse" as in "Andrew + universal" ? perhaps perhaps...

I did my commercial photography just lately this year when I'm more confident that the album will be completed anytime soon. The photographs were more than what i expected as in the quality. Many commented...some liked it..some don't, but there are more images coming soon to suite all my type of genre of songs. so guys...wait up for more updates....



I'll be designing my own cloths for myself soon. and also will start with my own line of cloths too. I'm not doing it for any money if most think i am. i do what i do simply because i love doing it. i love writing songs, directing movies and videos, photography, designing, and decorating...in fact there are many more which i love to do...but its not in my agenda anytime soon.

ill be directing my own video clips soon...hope to complete it by November or December 2008 this year. so you guys out there who wants to come join the team..do drop me a mail on what you can contribute.

my life has been up and down, left and right all the time. I've been in the entertainment industry almost 6 years now organizing events for other artist and companies. My life has been hectic almost everyday which leaves me to wonder if i left out on anything...that's where i start to think of all my love ones in my life. without realizing it my father is hitting 60 years old this year.

i thank god and the universe for all it has given me up till today and future. my life has full of bumps and windings...but with all gods grace, friends and family, i went trough it well. its all written down in my song called "walking star". all of you should also be a walking star. it explains on how life is sometimes difficult but it can be overcome when we put our mind to it. We are all stars...we are all special in our way. Love yourself...and everything else around you will love you too.

Andrew LD's Artist soft launch 30th August 2008 Penang Malaysia

The Soft Launch was a great success. Way than what all three of us (Muneer, Simon and I) expected at all. It was held at Sunset Bistro on the Beach at Batu Ferringhi. Thanks to all the
great fans, friends and family, it made the event most memorable.

The first session of performance was greeted with great weather till came the second set....the rain poured. Believe it or not, the fans stayed on till the end of the event. It was crowded throughout the launch.

We gave out 200 autographed CD with compilation of our songs. It was an experience which I'll never exchange for anything.

The purpose of the soft launch was to introduce three upcoming artist who are about to complete their albums.
We decided to have the launching event together as it will attract more fans to the venue. which end up way more than what we expected.

We are also grateful to the sponsors of the event who made the launch more possible. Dimet Lighting & Sound for the sound system, Sunset Bistro for the venue, Selphya (Shamir Adnan) for Printing Designs.

We also did some interviews that night. We delivered our best performance we could. The crowd sang along throughout the performance.

There was also acrobatic fire eating performance that night as the opening. We had beer drinking competition during our interval and gave out lots of CDs as prizes for the games.

As for the closing of the event, we begin giving out 200 promotional copy of the CD. In which time we were greeted by beautiful fans who wants to take our autographs. we basically signed from bags, flags, wallets, pictures, the cd, t-shirts, to some they even want us to sign on their body! it was a great and successful event.
